00: 00 vitamin D you I'm going to go here with this one creatine many years ago when I took creatine when I was Natty I there was a point where I was Natty I know it's amazing crom I got to go with underrated just cuz I think that people still don't know about it mhm I haven't taken anything that works as good as as a mind bullet fedia agrus and tongat Ali my nuts were so strong I shove it down her mouth every morning man the greens the green I just the greens my bad trt where is this overrated we got some more overrated and underrated to go over right oh yes this is fun too you asked a very interesting question on our walk today and I don't understand where it came from but I guess we were talking about cold plunging a little bit so maybe it came from there but yeah why where did that question come from I don't [__] know you know we were just walking around talking [__] and then I was curious if

01: 00 talking [__] and then I was curious if you guys would if if you had the choice and the technology was Flawless like you're not going to die would you get cryogenically frozen for x amount of years this could be 5 years 10 years you'd you'd get unfrozen at the same age right um but the only thing that would change is the time period so we you know we're 2023 maybe we'd be in 2033 but we'd be us right now and maybe you can have what your family come with you or whatever would you get Frozen it's interesting CU how different of a question is it between that and uh so you're Frozen and you're going to be the same age yes so technically it would wouldn't be all that different than just going into the future although couple years would pass MH going into the future I guess technically a couple years would pass too but it would just be you just go right into the future right yeah um I I would say that like no I wouldn't want to because it's like I

02: 00 wouldn't want to because it's like I really enjoy the life I have now and I don't know like if I put it all if I put myself on pause and came back MH like where's everybody else what are they doing I mean I know my wife would be gone you know she'd be like you know she' be upgrading she'd find a younger man and that would be well my kids would you know they would disown me and probably I don't know maybe they wouldn't you would technically come out of it a younger man because the rest of the world has aged and you didn't that's true it's a tough one man because like like my wife would be like your money's gone you [__] [__] I'd be like what the hell I thought you loved me what happened you know there's I I don't think I would do it but you know let's say that okay let's say that we're 15 aways 15 years away from something that can actually truly slow down your aging let's say we're 15 years away from that right now in 15 years you're going to be 62 right yeah yeah 40 in 15 years you're going to be 52

03: 00 in 15 years you're going to be 52 somewhere I don't know I'll be 45 right but what if we froze right now and then we're unfrozen right once the daging drug or the the massively slow down aging drug is out then we'd start that drug younger I'm adding too many things in but well that's the whole point of like doing this sort of thing but then like why do you want to live forever I want to live for a long time man I want to live good for a long time yeah I get that whoa okay you know what before we get into over underrated now this is another thing if you could live for like let's say an extra 200 years it's a long time but nobody else would be able to do it with you that you love would you do it that means you could live another 200 years but everybody else would like they'd be probably gone but you'd still be here doing your thing lifting having fun you'd be crushing it hey I would do it for the fame like if no one else has access to that I'd be

04: 00 if no one else has access to that I'd be I'd want to be like you know the 247 year old guy or whatever no one you care about that's that's the asterisk but no one you care I still get to be famous that's the longest living care a lot about you that's all you need yeah exactly yeah get interviewed all the time be great how are you doing it what are you doing stay so healthy and I'd be like I'm just eating my eggs and having my within you protein there you go dog you know if you so many followers cuz you'd be just around longer see like your IG would be insane that's what I'm saying if it was only you government would soup you up so fast you know after you're like 100 years and you still looking the same the government you'd be gone they'd take your blood you'd be in a research like you'd be in a lab yeah straight up yeah would you guys do it let us know if like other people could do maybe do have access to that technology but no one you love so your mom your dogs your girl your guy they'd all be dead MH but you'd be here would you do it I don't know you go through cycles of people dying yeah you know

05: 00 cycles of people dying yeah you know that would suck that would really suck if I was with my ex-wife still I'd be like I just got to wait this out I love how you just throw shade at X's it's like [__] you but you know now that I'm not I don't think I would same same man yo if I was in my last one I'd be like [__] take me Jesus take me now Lord all right ready to get into all right let's start off with uh some fun supplements all right uh was it overrated underrated perfectly rated on vitamin D I'm going to go here with this one going over I'm going P perfectly rated um I'll go yeah perfectly rated as well why you think it's overrated man I just think it's uh overrated because I think that the habits that help increase vitamin D are really critical and really crucial so like going out in the sun and

06: 00 crucial so like going out in the sun and probably having proper sleep and nutrition and and other protocols keeping those intact I think are more important um than vitamin D itself so I often times will hear experts and hear people talk about vitamin D and how important vitamin D is and I don't disagree that it's important but there's a big difference between vitamin D uh as a hormone inside your body versus you taking a vitamin D supplement so I think that people have kind of mixed things up by talking about the vitamin D supplement and I I don't know if there's a lot of research showing that the vitamin D supplementation does much of anything but there could be I I could be wrong on that maybe I'm uh like unaware but uh as far as I know I don't think there's a lot of research showing that like vitamin D pill is going to really do anything uh it may raise your blood uh vitamin D when you go to get your

07: 00 uh vitamin D when you go to get your blood tested um but again I don't think that has the same impact as having the habits that raise your vitamin D so many things come with the habits of like getting outside getting Sun your circadian rhythm all those things along with vitamin D the habit of going out and walking and doing all those those all work together right and you know sometimes you may think that okay I'm taking my 5, 000 IUS of vitamin D a day I'll be fine if I don't go out and get a walk today or I'll be out if I don't go out and get sun today I can just stay indoors and that's not the thing supplements are good they are helpful but yeah that's why I yeah it is more beneficial to do the thing and take the supplement rather than just taking the supplement thinking that it's going to make the difference MH yeah I was just saying perfectly rated because of what you guys have both just been saying like getting out in the sun phenomenal I think we're all starting to understand at least maybe because in the circles we run in that people are understanding getting out in the sun is super beneficial and when we looked at your Labs recently we noticed like oh wait your vitamin D was was lower during the

08: 00 your vitamin D was was lower during the winter time huh so in those situations I don't think it hurts to take a vitamin D supplement um what you said makes a ton of sense as well about like well we don't really know what happens when you take it and just be just because your Labs show that your vitamin D levels are high is that the same we don't know but I don't think it hurts and so it's like uh like I think it can help you know in uh in many scenarios to just make sure your levels are cool throughout the year a little bit of supplementation can help as well getting outside as well as looking up things that have uh vitamin d and vitamin K in it there's supposed to be like kind of a Synergy between the two so just might want to look it up and investigate it more I just uh sometimes think that you know in the fitness community and Wellness Community type of stuff we just tend to like really just maybe over amplify the benefits like if you're just sitting on your couch some pale ass [__] who's not getting outside at all I don't think the uh you taking popping you know 10, 000 I use of vitamin D every day is going to make it a huge difference in your health mhm I

09: 00 a huge difference in your health mhm I still try to take it consistently but yeah I agree yeah you guys ready for the next one ready ready [__] creatine what do you guys think I'm G to give it a p all right I'm going to say this real quick underrated because I still I think because it's not a stimulant you don't necessarily take the creatine and you feel the powers of creatine um because of that even in the past I have been inconsistent on my creatine right whereas you take some caffeine or you have a work out you're like I feel like God but creatine you don't feel it but it has those effects after like a few weeks of use you know what I mean you will have better pumps in the gym you have better workouts in the gym it is the most researched supplement on the market and it is the cheapest so it's like take your [__] creatine even if you don't feel it I think it's underrated I remember I was coming home I came home from work one day and my wife goes oh your creatine came and she kind of slid it across the counter and I was like I didn't order creatine and right as I said that Jake comes walking

10: 00 right as I said that Jake comes walking I slide it back across the table and I'm like what the [__] is this I learned it from watching you now he just had this grin on his face he was like he's like yeah I ordered some creatine but I take creatine uh I've been taken it for a while now and I I've always thought it had benefit sometimes when you uh hear from guys like me that use performance enhancing drugs like nothing works nothing does anything uh but I think creatine has some application and um why not use some of it here and there I just think it's helpful mhm yeah I mean I guess I'd have to say underrated um because what you just said in Sea like you don't feel it and you know it's not like like a caffeine it's not like anything that you're going to take and instantly feel this is tasteless white powder yeah you literally don't recognize it in anything you take um what a great marketing scheme right yeah so you're not going to really actually feel it yeah but it's doing something but no actually

11: 00 doing something but no actually maybe I'll even go overrated because there are some like supplement companies that will mix it in with stuff and then be like oh Super Pump whatever D they don't do that anymore they do but they're bullshitting you they try to make like creatine nitrate and so that's where I was like maybe I'll go over yeah because it's not going to do that but I don't think just kind of like what I said with vitamin there's no harm I I don't know if you guys ever mentioned this but or ever uh noticed this but um many years ago when I took creatine when was Natty I there was a point where I was Natty I know it's amazing uh I remember taking creatine and like and feeling my muscles and being like I think my muscles are [__] harder like I thought it made a difference it felt like it made a difference have either one of you guys ever noticed like an a noticeable like Mark difference in anything after like a few days pumps are better and I am literally Fuller because I'm holding on to more water my muscles are are more hydrated so yeah after a period of taking it you do but the thing is it's like it's not something that you will take it and feel you just

12: 00 will take it and feel you just got to get into the habit of just putting it in something whether it's your coffee or water or whatever and just taking it each day yeah I I've never really noticed anything next being honest yeah um oh my phone went to sleep oh no what happened okay next one Omega-3s are you guys hot by the way do you need me to turn the air on no I'm I'm good I feel okay Omega-3s is actually I say underrated I don't even know what Omega-3s are M I mainly started taking them because of Charles Paquin I'll just put it here talking about just like fish oil capsules and like I also get in a bit of fish in my diet too to try to get Omega-3s in there but you know apparently it's good for your heart it's good for joint health Etc and it's something that's very easy to miss especially if you don't eat fish so most people who don't eat fish often or eat fish to or three times a week it's a good idea to supplement some Omega-3s it's not a bad idea at all um I've never seen anybody talk about like massive uh

13: 00 seen anybody talk about like massive uh non-benefit I know that poin the reason why there was a period of time that I started taking like hyperd doing Omega-3s because poqu Quin did mention something about it like 20 grams or something so literally I I have days I take omega-3s and I just have days where I pop eight capsules just for the [__] of it right I don't feel anything but I do think because like some weeks I don't eat a lot of fish or whatever it's something that I could easily not get enough of and yeah so I do think for most people it is underrated cuz it's not one of the sexy supplements but it can have a benefit yeah I do know po Paquin was a huge fan of uh Omega-3s as well as uh Ian Danny and some of like Po Quinn's like under studies and stuff uh but when it comes to like these different fats I just it's hard for me to make sense of like uh you know like our hunter gatherers like really needing like access to so many different sources of of food you know like I need salmon today you know like uh you got what you got right and I I don't I know know the

14: 00 got right and I I don't I know know the body human body can like make certain things and stuff like that but um I don't think it's like critical by any means but does seem to be some research you know showing that it could be like heart protective and stuff like that we have had a couple people on the show talking against it that is true um you I can't remember uh exactly who we had on but we've had a couple people uh who who've talked kind of poorly about it um one thing to consider with fish and this is uh something that people have been mentioning a lot more recently it's just like the world is the world we live in now is pretty toxic and they consider the uh ocean to be toxic soup basically so the fish that we eat are you know they're they're not the same as they used to be a lot of times the fish that we have access to and things like that they're farm - fed fish and they're not wild fish and things like that so I I'm just not a huge huge proponent of fish fish oil I've taken it many times over

15: 00 fish oil I've taken it many times over the years haven't noticed a ton of differences I'll just kind of finish on this point though a lot of people do swear by it and they believe that it can help with uh inflammation and some people even think it can help a lot with gut health yeah I'll just say overrated cuz I think fish is overrated and therefore Omega-3s are now overrated I I don't have any I don't need any reason for it uh next one well okay so maybe we can say all right I'll just say vegetable oil oil oh the the dangers of okay that's what it was in what context so yeah are we going to die if we use cooking spray Mark says overrated i'' s say overrated the trainy one I okay oddly enough I will say underrated this is the thing it's like you know what you want to go first on this one sure uh you know we've talked to a lot of people we've had you know I still get hit up by past guest that we had for people to

16: 00 past guest that we had for people to come on the show and talk about this more but like I really can't take any more of it because I just think it's uh it's like too much out in the weeds you know um I think that sometime in the future we will find out more about some of these things um I don't think they're detrimental however I do think that processed foods are a problem and this is where we see a lot of these seed oils um the uh in in a lot of the products that we consume I think uh Lane Norton's done a good job of pointing out that uh you know I always talk about like carbs or in the past I talked a lot about lowering your carbs but a lot of these things that have carbs in them they also have fats in them something like a Ritz cracker or cheese it or something like that it has a good amount of calories coming from fat and a lot of times those fat calories are coming from these oils and so it'd be easy to blame those oils on like hey look at this soybean oil or canola oil like this is the devil uh but again I think if you're

17: 00 the devil uh but again I think if you're eating healthy and you're you're eating reasonable amounts of food and you're not overeating then uh anything that might come into the body that would be toxic I think the body can handle pretty well I think the body's designed for that so that would be where I go with that one adjusting my rating to perfectly rated and this this is the reason why like when a lot of people do talk about vegetable oils they try to like put a lot of things as the the vegetable oil is the reason why this is happening and like you mentioned I don't necessarily think that's the reason I think it's there can be an overc consumption because a lot of people do eat food out a lot and a lot of food is just basked in that [__] personally I do avoid using vegetable oils at home and I know that when I eat out I'm going to get vegetable oil in it but like I'm cool with that but one thing I noticed especially when I eat like when I eat out I don't feel as good the next day also depends on like what I eat but like also might be eating more when you go out but a little bit more

18: 00 when you go out but a little bit more but like when I eat some of these foods that that I know are really oily Etc I don't feel as good as when I cook certain things at home and so happens that when I cook at home I eat a lot of fat but I don't use vegetable oil I can cook a lot of stuff without the use of it so the thing is is I think it is something to keep your eye on it doesn't mean that you need to get rid of all vegetable oils or think that this is the one thing that's going to change your health but there's no harm in avoiding it and it's not going to it's not difficult to avoid vegetable oil so I choose not to just because of the things that I've heard um and there can be a benefit to that but I don't think it's it is the one big reason there's so many other habits that we talked about on the show that are going to lead to way worse outcomes like snacking a lot over consumption not getting sleep right these are the these are bigger pillars above avoiding vegetable oil so you know I think it's perfectly rated yeah I would say it's perfectly rated as well um one thing like for myself I've gotten rid of like I use the example of cooking spray so I don't know if that

19: 00 cooking spray so I don't know if that comes equipped with like other things but I know I noticed that since I got rid of that like my stomach has been a lot better like it's been get improving a lot but using butter instead of like a cooking spray or something vegetable oil whatever you want to call it um I I just I feel a little bit better you know like it was a noticeable difference to never want to use anything else um and again I know that could be something in cooking spray because like I don't even remember what kind like Pam or whatever it is you know the non-stick stuff um but yeah I took it out and I felt better so I think it's perfectly rated because you can learn like what products have vegetable oils and just avoid them and see how you feel yeah and if you feel better or you don't feel a difference then you can bring them back and then see how you feel okay you feel the same like well okay you're good you don't need to have to worry about it but what you said is huge though is because if we cook at home my son he eats what we put in front of him he'll eat steak and he's [__]

20: 00 of him he'll eat steak and he's [__] having a great time MH uh my wife took him yesterday to a restaurant and they had uh like just like plain pork tacos right so nothing crazy just some tacos yeah this morning he woke up with a very upset stomach and it's like oh [__] like what happened what did we change it's like oh like we did eat out or you guys ate you know outside of the house it's like well we don't know exactly what that was cooked in so maybe the vegetable oil that was used to you know prep whatever it was part of that meal like kind of upset his stomach so again I think it's perfectly rated because it can jack some people up and for other people it doesn't matter but I don't think it's going to kill or you know what I mean like some people that we've had on the podcast it was like the end of the world if you had vegetable oil and it's like well maybe for some people not for everybody mhm I would kind of put it in a similar category as like diet soda and things like that like if it's if you're currently eating something that has some sort of vegetable oil in it but it's productive in keeping you on your diet plan which

21: 00 in keeping you on your diet plan which is probably highly unlikely but if you're able to still stay on your diet plan and you're able to still uh be at like either maintenance calories or being in a caloric deficit please don't change anything about what it is you're doing because I think that's your safest bet is to figure out a way to manage your calories but most of the time uh these products are kind of more in a category of promoting overeating all right next topic uh or supplement katom overrated underrated perfectly rated oh man put that at a PE I gotta go with underrated just because I think that people still don't know about it m still don't know about the amazing uh properties of this plant and of course you could [__] overdo it um we you know seen people overdo it I know people overdone it I've overdone it myself um in like even like testing it out and things like that and trying to make sure it's you know somewhat safe for people but uh you know I do think people people need to have caution with any of the

22: 00 need to have caution with any of the supplements that are going to kind of like uh be brain oriented you know uh just because you hear that Alpha GPC you know is a great neut Tropic or any of these stimulants of the mind and stuff like that too um I think all of them kind of fall in a category of and even caffeine and energy drinks pre-workouts and stuff like that they feel good it's good to feel good but then you also have to kind of recognize hey if something's going to make you feel good the there's probably some negative in there somewhere so you know so there's give and take with everything um I myself try to use katum as responsibly as I can we have some of it sitting on the table right here and I'll take tiny sips of it when I go and run I'll take tiny sips of it sometimes before a workout I'll take tiny sips of it and that adds up quick that that's going to add up to be a lot so I have to be conscious and cautious of how much of it I take we have people that call often they'll call call our customer service uh with mind bullet and they'll say hey

23: 00 uh with mind bullet and they'll say hey is this product addictive and we'll say yes it is and some people will be like okay thanks and then then that's it and other people they want to find out more but I'm not about to lie to people it is addictive it does have addictive properties it does make you feel good so even in that of itself because it makes you feel good you're going to want to come back for more yeah and so uh there is a little Caution with it but I still think it's underrated cuz so many people are in so much pain and the opioid crisis in this country is wild so many people are dying uh from opioids and I think that katum can really be helpful to a lot of people I just convinced in SEMA down a bottle there's a third um this thing I think third bottle no a third of it this is the double shot it thing katum feels really [__] good and that's like almost the problem you know like when you take a lot of things you don't feel as we were mentioning earlier mhm right yeah a lot of things creatine you don't protein don't feel it Crum it feels really good because like

24: 00 Crum it feels really good because like the distinct thing about it and we've mentioned this multiple times and we mentioned it to guests because guests will come on to the podcast and they'll take a little bit we'll always tell them you feel like you want to give your somebody a hug or I feel like I want to give my mom a call and tell her I love her it puts you in a really good mood now I've never gotten addicted to it I take it like I forgot to take it today and when you mentioning I'm like let me take a little bit you feel a little bit good um but because it makes you feel good you want to see that feeling good all the time and then you can definitely overdo it that's why like I mean you said you're taking it every other day now I'm taking it like every few days too because like even though you can feel really good overdoing it is not good right so you got to be cognizant about how you do certain things even [__] that that energy drink right there you know what I mean like I won't have that thing after a certain time of the day you know like but it feels good but it doesn't feel doesn't make you feel as good as that but that's the thing it's like you need to be careful but with careful use I think it's so beneficial before my last jiu-jitsu

25: 00 beneficial before my last jiu-jitsu tournament I was taking sips of it I took a sip of it in the morning and I was taking a little few sips before each match just to put me in a very happy good mood cuz I roll better when I feel a little bit better right so it can definitely have performance-enhancing effects because of your mood but when you try to seek that feeling with a supplement all the time that's when you're in a problem so you got to be smart and anything that's going to help blunt pain which mind bullet catom can do yes again there's a cost to that too we know there's a cost to you know take an aspirin and uh ibuprofen and these things so you you always want to have a little bit of caution with it uh it's a great product and it can help put you in a good mood it can help block a little bit of pain it can help maybe relax you in certain situations but you know do your best to uh try to be in control of that yeah I I'll say underrated um because you do some research online and it it quickly goes to um it's it's great for addicts it's uh it's like an opiate

26: 00 for addicts it's uh it's like an opiate or whatever uh all these things like for pain and it's like well [__] dude like I'm not an addict I I don't have that much pain like I don't think this is for me meanwhile this person is going to go to work go to the office they're going to do something that requires a lot of focus and oh my gosh when it talk when you when it comes to like getting in the Flow State or zoning in and getting a lot of work done I haven't taken anything that works as good as as a mind bullet now I I man I might take it once or twice a month like I don't really take it that often I've never felt the dependency on it um but I I do like it a lot for getting a lot of work done it does put you in a really good mood um I would say the most I was taking it was back when I was doing a lot of the um uh oh hustlemania videos cuz right those were those took a long time to put together but I would just sit there and listen to music for like 4 hours just like just loving the beats that I would put into that into those

27: 00 that I would put into that into those videos and that was such a huge part of that whole series and people would always comment about like oh I can't believe you put you know whatever song on this video that's so dope and so uh it just really puts you in the zone and it really makes you enjoy what you're doing and that doesn't necessarily have to be uh a physical thing it can be something that you're working on like at a desk and or writing oh my gosh I can't imagine how good it would be while while trying to write stuff down and get some other work done so yeah I think it's underrated because I don't think that's the first thing that people go to is like the productivity boost that you get when you take it you want to get the dishes done and the laundry done take some Crum yeah all right let's see oh this is a great one because you mentioned it Mark uh over under perfectly rated on protein powder oh man I'm going to go with the under underrated all around yeah M I think you know there so protein powder for some people that maybe are kind of unaware like protein

28: 00 maybe are kind of unaware like protein powder has changed so much over the years uh when I first started like uh with like metrex and stuff like that like man protein powder was not very good it tasted pretty gross yeah I remember and you had to mix it with like a lot of different things to like try to blunt the flavor and you know you had to do you had to it's like a chemistry set to try to figure out how to make the thing taste halfway decent nowadays you can just add some water or add your favorite kind of milk to your protein shake shake it up or blend it up and it can be absolutely amazing I don't think that people really understand the power and the impact that protein has on your nutrition we talk all the time about protein leveraging and by simply eating more protein and increasing the amount of uh the protein percentage that you eat it can help drive down calories it can help with satiation and then another thing that a protein shake does that's a little different than um maybe some other things that you have

29: 00 um maybe some other things that you have access to is it's going to sometimes when you're on a diet plan you don't have a lot of sweet stuff maybe you have diet soda here and there or something like that but most of the things that you eat you know you're going to be eating different kinds of chicken different kinds of fish vegetables uh maybe some red meat maybe some eggs and most of the things are pretty like Savory and to kind of flip everything on its head now you know with with a good protein powder uh you can have a good chocolate flavor you can mix a PB2 in there and have a chocolate peanut butter thing going on or whatever your favorite style is so I really love it for multiple reasons it's helped so many people that I know uh lose weight and there's so many options you know I I have my own protein powders and stuff like that but there's literally hundreds of companies that you can go to and can try some different brands and try some different flavors yeah it's it's a crazy one last podcast Andrew mentioned you know having a protein shake before or you eat a meal right so that like you have that protein shake

30: 00 that like you have that protein shake and then you eat your meal like sometimes if you are dieting you might feel super hungry you might want something that's uh something that's like super calorically dense but you have a protein shake first doesn't drive your hunger nearly as much you actually feel like okay let me be reasonable with this meal I'm about to have for some people that are like oh I can't get in the protein I need to get in we do know obviously you don't need a protein shake if you can get it through meat but sometimes the amount of meat or protein you'll have to eat is a little bit too much it's like you you'll feel too full protein shakes make it super easy to get in that extra 30 40 50 60 70 grams of protein without like you know without taxing the actual food youat to eat so much so I I think it's like protein shakes are underrated because I still don't think people use them as much as you potentially could and then [__] guys get the ninja creamy I won't go on too long get the ninja creamy because you can make some really good protein ice cream that actually has the texture of ice cream with it but [__] it's so good

31: 00 ice cream with it but [__] it's so good show people how to use that thing man that thing is incredible oh that thing is absolutely incredible and protein powders nowadays too they don't kill your stomach you know they used to be you used to be like hey this is a sure bet I'm going to [__] myself yep I'm going to have some really hot farts and they're going to stink really bad but a lot of the protein powders of today they have a lot less lactose in them you can even buy ones that are lactose free um I've had a lot of people have a lot of success with the steak shake they really like it a lot doesn't bother their stomach as much it's got beef protein isolate has egg it has whey in it those are all three are the most bioavailable uh amino acids that you can get from any foods so you might want to look into a product like that I also am making another steak Shake version uh that doesn't even have whey in it so it it literally is uh it just has beef protein isolate I think I took out whey I took out the egg I got rid of all allergens completely uh because

32: 00 all allergens completely uh because Andrew told me a while back that his wife got some food allergies here and there and I was like you know what there's a lot of people that have that so I want it to be glutenfree soy free whey free dairy free just Bare Bones so it'll be uh beef protein isolate collagen and then it'll still have liver kidney heart spleen pancreas and all that stuff in it to give it the extra nutrients so curious how that's going to taste [__] awesome yeah we we nailed it yeah are you just going to call it no way that's a good idea oh man now we got to wait to publish this episode yeah way underrated um yeah I'll just go on the fact that they taste amazing like we you know when people go on a diet they feel like oh I have to eat salads all day and I can't have fun there's so many amazing things that you can make with protein powder I mean literally anything almost um you know you could bake cakes with it or make muffins or something you can make protein cookies uh my wife used to make these like uh they're like I forgot what

33: 00 these like uh they're like I forgot what they're actually called but it's just like a ball of protein powder and like almonds and [__] like it was like a like an energy ball is that that little peanut butter thing you gave us or that's something different different but I did try to make a protein version of that peanut butter cup and it didn't work out too well but it was still good but anyway um super underrated and I think just like cuz we have a lot of picky eaters right people were like I want to eat healthy but like I only like McDonald's it's like well you just make a like a you know the ice cream protein stuff or whatever like yeah Greg Des set has a bunch of recipes that you can make with protein powders it's it's no way I can't do his voice you got to be more like the the bird from uh what call it's uh what's this red bird from [__] Aladdin I don't know he's kind of Gilbert Godfree yeah all right let's move on yeah protein powder everybody go have a protein shake today uh fogia agrestis and tongue cat Ali y actually I'm I'mma say under I know

34: 00 y actually I'm I'mma say under I know Mark's going to disagree with me on this one all let me say this yo I took that [__] that combo consistently for two months after week one okay like no it didn't increase my test drastically like whatever it increases my luteinizing hormone fourfold increased my luteinizing hormone a lot actually um and I still take uh tonon fidia like every week but not every single day but just the sheer fact that my my nuts were so strong as in like like my my orgasms like they were so intense and it was a drastic difference also I will say this my libido when I use a bit of fedia like yo my I was like okay I actually mention Mason the homie Mason over San Jose he mentioned the same [__] like he's like and seea you still taking fogia I'm like like what do you notice he's like dog I'm so [__] I'm so

35: 00 I'm so [__] real talk like like for me personally man orgasms are just like like it's like uh it's a it's crazy that's that's how it should be sold then it should be sold for that cuz I'm just like you justed me I'm going to start taking it my [__] could hit another wall do that's the best just off of that I don't give a [__] about the test like I don't uh underrated for sure I'm changing my vote now I just say uh overrated simply because people get so excited about testosterone true raising testosterone and then I think they they think there's a correlation to uh the same impact as he would have with steroids and I don't know if there's anybody out there claiming that or saying that uh we've heard Andrew hubman talk about fedia a lot and I need to stock up we've heard other people talk about it a bunch and even as beneficial as it may be uh it's not it's I don't believe it's going to

36: 00 not it's I don't believe it's going to be like performance enhancing in terms of your performance in a weight room but apparently it might be performance enhancing in some other way and that alone might be a reason to take it I mean [__] man what's wrong with uh having a little bit better sex drive and being able to put out a little bit more uh Force yeah yeah so then with that in mind I'll say it's overrated but overrated because maybe it's not being marketed the correct way which you know could be just like a bedroom uh enhancing supplement yo sounds great shs crazy dog [__] really does yeah it's wild go you guys ready to move on let's go moving on all right green supplements I'll see underrated from Ina Mark Bale Mark I thing with some of these fogia supplements you can't tell what's like legit I say underrated just because like I personally don't eat a crazy amount of

37: 00 I personally don't eat a crazy amount of greens I don't like get that in my diet naturally um but I've been using uh been using some athletic greens and I've noticed a bit of a difference I use it every single morning and it's like it allows me to get in the things that I typically don't get in from you know the food I eat and it's it's simple it's just a very [__] easy thing I can add it to a protein shake or I can just take it in the morning and I've noticed the difference myself so I think for a lot of people that don't eat they're [__] greens which I maybe should but I don't it's just an easy put it in 20 seconds get it in move on with your day right I actually meant to hold up underrated oh okay but I messed up so I think it's I think just a lot of these things are just underrated simply because people just need better health practices yeah you know um do Americans need to uh find more micronutrients and not have such macro nutrient dense foods yeah 100% you know so if you can find a way to get in some M good micronutrients where the

38: 00 in some M good micronutrients where the calories aren't through the roof then Amen brother I think that's great and hopefully they're mixing in some other stuff in that shake that uh is uh you know making it worthwhile for them maybe they're adding some protein to it or something like that side note Joel green also has uh if you guys have gone through his book which I haven't gone through his book it's so dense but he he talks about the red blends and all these different things and how the benefit on the gut microbiome and all that [__] I haven't gone that deep I've just been using the green stuff but I dig it I think if you go down that route there's probably some benefit there so yeah I'll say underrated um like cuz my wife she's always trying to get me to eat vegetables and stuff and I'm like I'm not going to eat them and so this is like a super easy way and it's underrated because like you think greens and powder like I don't know have you guys ever had spirulina powder before I've had it yeah it's pretty terrible yeah uh these athletic green stuff don't taste anything like that they're like they don't taste bad you know kind of like the protein powders back in the day like it things have changed and um along

39: 00 like it things have changed and um along with you H like if if you're going to be in the habit of of taking a green supplement you're probably going to get into a habit of taking other good things and so it's going to start help you know pushing you towards this direction instead of like having donuts for breakfast right like you might become a better person from simply just getting better habits and this could be you know one of I know that sounds like a lot going be a better person but like no like you overall you have these better habits you're now walking you're eating right and you're you know covering all your bases with some greens my girl [__] hates it I shove it down her mouth every morning man the greens the green I the greens my bad I love you it's kind of acting as like a multivitamin too and right yeah Power project family if you're trying to increase your muscle mass if you're trying to lose body fat if you're trying to stick to your nutrition plan if you're trying to get fit pretty much if there's anything you're trying to do for your health we know that sleep is the biggest determining factor to help you

40: 00 biggest determining factor to help you get from point A to point B that's why we've been sleeping on eight sleep mattresses for probably more than two years now and the main reason is the technology behind the Pod Pro now the Pod Pro is like the Tesla of beds it will change its temperature based off how you're sleeping during the night and if you have a partner that's sleeping on the other side they could have their own temperature settings we all sleep hot here and I used to wake up in a puddle of my own sweat that doesn't happen anymore because of the eight Sleep mattress and I've been getting the best sleep of my life now if you don't want to replace your mattress you can just get the Pod Pro cover and you can put that over your current mattress to get all the benefits of eight sleep but if you also need to replace your old nasty mattress you can get the Pod Pro cover and the eights Sleep mattress Andrew how can they get it yes you guys got to head over to 8sleep. com powerproject and you guys will automatically receive $ 150 off of your order again 8sleep. com powerproject links to them down in the description as well as the podcast shown notes all right then we'll flip it to the other side fruit is overrated underrated

41: 00 side fruit is overrated underrated perfectly rated underrated underrated yeah underrated for sure yeah I think fruit's underrated cuz it's uh man it's everywhere it's easily easily accessible um just don't hear people talk about it enough FR it's uh yeah well uh fruit juice you know you might want to be cautious and conscious of how much of that you consume but in terms of like actual fruit uh eating an apple you know is going to be a little bit filling eating a banana having these things around your workouts I found it really beneficial uh around some of the runs that I've been doing M massively underrated I think you know a lot like people talk about oh don't go crazy with carbs or sweets or whatever right and there is an aspect if you don't want to go too crazy with the amount of carbs you eat today but like having some fruit it'll fill you up a bit like the fiber and the fruit you won't be going crazy on apples or whatever or like I'm going to go home and don't make the stupid jokes in the comments but I'm going to cut up some [__] watermelon because it's hydrating um and it's not crazy

42: 00 it's hydrating um and it's not crazy calorie dense right what jokes would people have about watermelon you know the obvious ones let's not even go in there all right but I you don't get seedless watermelon I don't even know what the watermelon I get is I don't know it has se are you talking about cuz the girls crush it with their legs I've never been able to do that actually have you ever tried it I haven't you actually I think I have tried it once years ago and I like think I pulled something in my adductor so I was but you know I think these girls are cheating cuz they use like the watermelon that's like it's a little bit almost like it's been there for a while it's softer yeah just questioning their strength let's see how it feels on my head performance enhancing watermelon dude I think watermelon in of itself is an underrated fruit because it's like it's it tastes super good and one thing too i' I found that I've started eating more fruit over the years as I've started getting away from like sweet snacks and stuff and you you start to realize how good it is when you're not eating hyper hyper palatable [__] sweets you're like damn this apple is actually [__] amazing you start to

43: 00 actually [__] amazing you start to like really appreciate that [__] so yeah yeah and then watermelon you can eat like the whole thing and it has like 50 calories right but like because there's so much water you actually will feel full eating a decent amount of watermelon and it's not a crazy amount of calories and it's sweet it's a little bit hippie-ish but go to a farmers market and get some fruit mhm it'll be so goddamn good and buy and try something different like if you if you're like man I don't know what the hell that is ask the person what it is buy it try it sometimes it's gross and weird every once in a while it's gross and weird but you'll probably find something that's absolutely amazing yeah you guys ever hit up the uh like the Mexicans with carts that are selling like the chopped up fruit they throw like oh my god dude this is so good they throw like spicy powder all over it I do that with the watermelon amazing so good yeah I just crushed an entire bowl of uh berries and it's dude so I have like my big breakfast and then I have some berries throughout the day or in the middle of the day dinner at night and then probably some more fruit after that it's just they're so good they're it's

44: 00 it's just they're so good they're it's it's so underrated my son crushes them um people will say like are they want to give him sweets and I'm like no like he eats fruit like that's the sweets right now you know and he loves it it's it's amazing berries berries are also like a little bit of a freebie on certain diet plans and people are just like hey have at it you can just eat as many as you want now they do have some calories but they mainly have water and fiber yeah so you have like a pound of strawberries and it's like 100 calories or something like it's it's nothing yeah moving on this is a good one energy drinks SL preworkouts I have to go with here we go overrated over oh yeah overrated yeah I just overrated in a sense that like seems like every kid that gets in the weight room like loves these things you know they seem to be so attached to them and then some people uh it kind of appears like they can't even really work out without it and I think that's

45: 00 out without it and I think that's getting yourself into a bad spot absolutely you know especially if you're younger you got to be careful I mean I did some of the same [__] but like you have this stuff too late in the day it's [__] with your sleep and your sleep is the biggest part of your recovery when the last time you had like an actual pre-workout well I mean you know sometimes I'll have that but I don't have that in the I don't have that before I actually work out I'll have that like when we're podcasting in the morning I'll maybe have half of that energy drink because actual powdered you know bounce offthe wall energy drink no I haven't had that [__] I haven't had a pre-workout in years Andre I I can't stomach them like I I get too jittery and I just end up [__] the whole time without actually working out MH yeah I think I mean that's kind of a good habit for us because like now we just associate working out with working out not like we need our preworkout I'm not telling you guys not to get pre-workouts but just be careful cuz there was a time when I was in my early 20s where like if I didn't have my pre-workout and I got to the gym gym and [__] wasn't in my car I'd be like [__] bro like it would really hurt the soul

46: 00 bro like it would really hurt the soul right so something you got to be careful with and another thing again really be careful with these like our boy Wyatt oh man had ow and two these guys are drinking three of these gorilla mind energy drinks a day that's 600 milligrams of caffeine 3, 000 L it's a lot like 600 and 700 p. m. at night I'm like be careful it's not bad but it's also don't overdo it please you got to protect your sleep yes cuz the the halflife and then um don't yall feel old you I have to protect your sleep young yeah but the the half life and then quarter life of uh I forgot what guest just told us that Joey fergo half life is 11 hours so bass yeah for BG for glass Joey for glass yeah the half life and quarter life I was like damn that's 12 hours that's tough yeah all right so yeah caffeine after 11: a. m. all right uh so we have a whole another section we're 45 minutes deep do you guys want to keep going let's finish this okay all

47: 00 to keep going let's finish this okay all right well here we go hot fitness topics red light therapy what do we got say underrated underrated I'll go here yeah I I think it's underrated because like okay there's a reason why like I don't talk a crazy amount about red light therapy even though I have two ju devices at home it's because it's so Fringe and it's such a hard thing to like tell people the benefits of like you mentioned it people are like you're bullshitting me [__] you you [__] scam artist I'm like I'm just never going to talk about this I've been using who are you talking to oh my gosh no whenever mean whenever I've mentioned red light therapy even though there's a lot of research about it it has actually is beneficial for you it is a price to it um and it's something hard to tell somebody like it it's not at the top of the list of something I tell somebody to do to really increase their performance but it does have good effects on inflammation it does have good effect effects on your hormones it is beneficial your skin um I use my [__]

48: 00 beneficial your skin um I use my [__] device 5 days a week but I'm not going to tell somebody you have to do this but is it beneficial yes is it something that is going to be hard for somebody to believe that actually works it's red light so yes I do think it's underrated but you know it is what it is I've seen it be I I said overrated only just because you know just people just like Hawking the product and yep I do think it has value but it unfortunately um the price is still pretty high it's coming down which is nice but it's uh fairly expensive and I don't really know if people are going to really feel it you know maybe some people do but I don't know if you're going to really feel it and uh for myself I like to feel stuff you know the cold therapy I'm like no I I feel that going into the sauna I feel that going into my hot tub I feel that katum I feel that you know those are all the things I can actually like feel and quantify um but when it comes to the red light I don't really feel it but have noticed some improvements on some stuff um I've had like different issues with

49: 00 um I've had like different issues with like skin uh you know the blisters I had on my feet recently it seemed like they recovered faster when I did use the red light therapy um my wife's had like little injuries I've had little injuries or I'm like I because I have one I'm I'm like I might as well go use it I'll just use it on my elbow or something and I'll just stand in front of it for a couple minutes again I'm not necessarily like oh my God my elbow holy [__] like it's way better now after 3 minutes of the headlight uh it doesn't really feel like it has that impact but it does seem to speed recovery in some way so I think it's pretty cool add in on that that thing you mentioned about like skin Cuts all that type of [__] that [__] does recover faster on me like I've noticed it but again it's not something I go talking about a crazy Mount because people are going to be like you're a crazy person with that [__] n it's legit but you don't need to go out and buy a device you need to [__] get good sleep and all that [__] but it is a good additive MH yeah I say underrated cuz when I do it I do feel great I don't do it enough and the one thing this is might be so many other factors could come into this but um when I do use it

50: 00 come into this but um when I do use it my son gets super excited and he wants to be in front of it could be just cuz it's a weird looking red light but my dogs they do the same they go nuts and they just like want to get in front of it and just stand there or sit there I mean and I'm like they don't do this for anything else and I'm like is it no it's not that it's too cold in here and it you know puts off some heat I'm like I think they just they're drawn to it cuz they they like the way it feels as well so that's kind of like my biggest thing where I'm like okay there's something special here my dogs do the same if I leave the door open and and uh like they see the red light they'll come in and they'll just sit right in front of me they're they're [__] huskys right these things like to run but they will just sit in front of me and just like just stare it's weird so anyway do what take with that with what you will but let's get on to the next one yeah all right let's see well let's see it's well okay uh longevity so I guess maybe like uh like biohacking type stuff um like Dave aspey type stuff I won't go on too long with this

51: 00 stuff I won't go on too long with this underrated why underrated underrated because I I think that sometimes when we do certain things and you might think I'm kind of stupid because like I'm I talk about Jiu-Jitsu right what's longevity I think we do we should think of like the impact of the things we're going for in the long term cuz at least for me the things I do right now I want to be able to do them when I'm much older so I'm doing things in a way that will allow me to last I'm not going crazy with anything I'm pushing myself but not pushing myself to the point where I could get injured I'm I'm making sure that longevity is in mind with everything that I do and I think we all are I think that should just kind of maybe be at the top of mind for more people because you might love something right now but think about this can you keep the capacity or can can you keep this capacity for a while and will it do you good in the long run if you keep that in mind you might change the way you do things and I think most of us don't think of things in that way that's really well said I just said overr just because of the different biohacking stuff that you see and hear so much about it red light therapy yeah

52: 00 so much about it red light therapy yeah I don't really think that's where somebody should start and as Ina was pointing out even though he likes red light therapy he mentioned the habits um we got to focus more on habits and so if you are thinking about like longevity that might be the best place to start is with your habits and we already know that sleep is a major contributor I think people still don't want to get their phones out of the room they still don't want to get their phones out of their hands or they still don't want to listen to the advice of like don't lay down and watch TV in your bed and don't lay down in your bed and and uh and mess around with your phone I think that like as humans we kind of hate being kind of told what to do and especially what not to do sometimes like [__] you I'm going to do whatever I want but your sleep I I really think it's important to try to protect your sleep in some ways and um in most age groups that people are in like most of the people listening to the show you supposedly need that's a strong word but you need like seven to nine hours of sleep for a lot of people

53: 00 hours of sleep for a lot of people listening to the show you probably have to lie down for nine hours every night to try to figure out how to you know get that seven to eight hours because it doesn't always work out so perfectly right um there's just not enough people considering the power and impact of what that can do for your longevity how that can help your stress mitigation every single day so I think that uh it's it's cool to look at longevity but I also think there's uh just a lot of promotion of a lot of stuff that I think like walking is longevity lifting is longevity the [__] that we talk about is for longevity it's going to help with bone density and strength we talk all the time about strength is never weakness weak is never strength uh you know what are the what's the number one thing that is uh the number one kind of ailment or number one thing that older people are facing what's the difference between someone that's 75 years old that has 40 lbs of extra weight on them versus someone that's 25 years old and

54: 00 versus someone that's 25 years old and has the same amount of extra body weight on them the person that's older has less muscle mass because they're not as strong anymore because they're not moving around it's not just the body fat so we think that the country is getting fatter and that kind of is happening uh to a certain extent but people are also losing muscle we're underused we don't have enough strength you start to lose that muscle when you don't have the signal of strength and so uh for me I just think that sometimes we look at the longevity stuff in a really weird way we think we need to buy some expensive equipment or machines and do these weird uh Voodoo things but if we just do simple stuff that people that been here long before us that had success with longevity uh have done then I think we'll be on the right track yeah I'll just quickly say like uh overrated because what we were talking about on our run like you know sometimes these people that focus on it like I don't want to gain too much muscle cuz it's not good for longevity and it's like I think we can all agree that that sounds a little silly so moving on anyway uh oh

55: 00 a little silly so moving on anyway uh oh good one trt where is this [__] overrated trt trt I'd say overrated as well uh I just again just you know the internet gets a hold of these things and it gets kind of passed around and you know I think uh The trt Craze I think got kicked off from my brother's movie bigger stronger faster where he talked about trt clinics in in the movie and he even asked the guy in the movie asked the doctor he's like You guys sell steroids right and the guy's like no not really and my brother's like no but really you do sell steroids and I think that uh people are just thinking that trt is going to be like this magic thing that people do um but you're going to see a lot of these people a lot of these men these women that are talking a lot about trt probably not really make that big of changes again it's going to be your habits are going to be the things that are going to really quote unquote move the needle for you more so

56: 00 unquote move the needle for you more so than anything the trt stuff uh can be really helpful um obviously balancing your hormones optimizing your hormones that is not what I'm talking about about some of it being overrated I just think that people think that they're going to take some trt and that they're going to all of a sudden get in magnificent shape when it comes to losing body fat there's so many different routes to go when it comes to losing body fat that don't really have a lot to do with taking testosterone which is normally what these trt clinics are going to give you um there's really not a great drug in terms of like fat burning there's now some of the trt clinics do have access to things like semaglutide which can help your hunger and can seems to be able to help um but again I I just think uh a lot of this is overblown get your habits in check I would say even get your habits in check before you go to trt I I would say get your blood work done go through meric Health get the blood panel that we offer check that

57: 00 blood panel that we offer check that stuff out communicate with the doctor communicate with the uh health coach and and talk it over and see where your uh your levels are but I don't think you should go and hop on a bunch of drugs uh at that moment I think you should get your habits intact first do that once you learn what where your Bloods that and start to make improvements there and I bet you you can improve your blood work without trt I read a comment last time we were talking about this from our boy Brian brud um and he actually did get on trt but he was mentioning he wished he did that like worked on his habits first but this was a comment on our video recently all about testosterone it was a podcast that we uh had a lot of different people on from blackjack's Armory when I was 42 my test was 320 I'm 3 years full carnivore and I lost 50 lbs and I've put on 17 lbs of muscle in the last 2 years naturally I work out every day and now my testosterone at 45 is 6 a80 I eat out

58: 00 testosterone at 45 is 6 a80 I eat out and sleep it works but y'all saw that three years this is the thing you my testosterone is like we got to checked in the midday was 700 his testosterone is not much away from mine and he's 45 but guess what his habits are in check I think because trt's become so popular people have underestimated the amount of difference that good habits good nutrition working out losing body fat can have on your test that [__] can take you from a person with low testosterone to a person with good to high testosterone but it takes time and the thing is is like taking something taking time is kind of sucks you know what I mean it kind of sucks but in the long run you're still going to be able to produce your own testosterone I don't think trt is bad we know how beneficial and life-changing it can be for people so many people in the audience have mentioned getting on trt and it turning their life around and that's [__] awes awesome but not everybody needs trt for that to happen what you do need is you need to change your lifestyle habits

59: 00 you need to change your lifestyle habits your nutritional habits your sleep all the if you change these things and you actually give yourself the time to do it and you're diligent man you can change your life you don't and and then trt is the card you can pull later in life I may still pull that card when I'm like 50 or 60 or something I don't want to have to but if I do I will [__] do it but I'm definitely happy that I have the habits because of all the things we talk about that I don't have to pull that card at 30 mhm yeah and just I'll add trt can ironically help you with those habits can that's what I was going to say but you still need to like you still need to work for it you still need to do it like you you've been working on you've been doing it forever like you've been working on these things for a long time so once you decided to do that and go that route it wasn't like all this stuff was new for you you like what I can't drink beer anymore I mean these guys they they they're thinking they're going to have their normal you know weekend uh you know playing playing golf and stuff like that and still eat like [__] eat nachos and drink beer and they're not going to make any real changes to their body in

1: 00 make any real changes to their body in my opinion yeah no I was just going to joke and be like for that guy making that much progress natural would have made more progress if he did hop on but it's right the habits though would have to be there so all all I'll say is that you know testosterone or trt isn't everything but it helps everything you know if you start doing the things and then you add that in then it's just going to boost everything um so I I don't know if I would say underrated or perfectly rated but I just think that yeah like I said like it can help everything and so it's like if you're already on a good war path and then you add this it's like holy [__] you're really you know going at light speed now but of course habits have to be there I think we've kind of stressed that quite a bit and if you want it to help more just take a little more just a little bit more next topic par project family we talk about eating meat all the time on this podcast pause pause but

1: 02 when like the [__] basketball playoffs come around I can't sit down and watch the full [__] game I watch those highlights because I love seeing my man LeBron do his thing right and a bunch of other athletes like it's cool to do that but some people live and die by this [__] and I that's that's a tough one I do love sports though yeah I love sports I don't think the players are overrated by any means I admire what they do I love watching all different kinds of sports I could there and get lost kind of watching like tennis or something I I'll watch just about any sport I really do enjoy it a lot but I see people putting so much stock in their team winning and in how well their guy does or or uh people are in these fantasy leagues and stuff like that too and it's just crazy like I I really do like sports a lot I'm a huge fan I love watching people smack home runs and I love watching certain pitches and baseball and stuff and I don't even like baseball that much I I'm not going to sit there and watch watch baseball uh for a long period of time but I do admire it I'm like man look at how well

1: 03 admire it I'm like man look at how well these guys move look at the way this guy can swing or the way this guy can throw a ball it's just really awesome uh and then UFC I love watching UFC but my night is not going to be ruined by watching like my favorite guy watching Bones Jones or something like that just because he loses or just because he wins like I'm not going to get like wavered from that and so for for that reason I kind of think sports are over a lot of ways yeah by the way just if if you guys don't like soccer I get it but go watch a compilation of Leo Messi Juke and [__] with a soccer ball and tell with the same foot different feet that man is the best ever is a lot of times he just using the same foot though right like he just used I forget which foot it is I think he's left footed but he's as good as his right as he is with his left he that's the thing with him he's like he has a dominant foot but the way he moves literally because I played soccer for so long I'll watch that [__] and I'll just have tears well up a little bit because it's just beautiful bro so anyway yeah

1: 04 it's just beautiful bro so anyway yeah uh way overrated um and that's coming from somebody who used to I would wake up sports radio all day long and then I'd be on Twitter following all my favorite teams would your team losing ruin your week my team losing would ruin everything like especially in football football season if the Niners lost I would just mad the whole week and then when like basketball season would butt up against football season it was like double whammy cuz I'm a Kings fan so it's like they were always they're always losing and then when they got good they lost and then now they got good again and they lost [__] lost to uh Warriors but um it's just crazy because like again I was this person but could you imagine wanting to fight another man because that team's Jersey and this is a group of men that will never know who you are but you are down to like get into a physical altercation because this person said something bad about your team's color or whatever you know like

1: 05 team's color or whatever you know like it's so stupid square up bro yeah yeah it's like Square down let's [__] go yeah I remember talking [__] to a bunch of Laker fans at a game once and see you in the parking lot like [__] you all right let's do it but oh my God so silly and it just such a Time waster especially um sorry dude but baseball like it's like one game is like all day and it's like oh watch the game can't do anything you guys you know I'm and they play like a [__] a thousand games a year so it's like dude like oh my it's not worth it like it's such a time waste and like it means nothing people are so bummed listen to us right now like these guys suck sorry sorry y'all don't I'm G highlight King though all right what's the next one okay my bad uh cold plunging be real yo I'm be so real under just over over you're saying over all right why why oh just cuz it's like just so much on the internet I don't think people can stand one more cold plunge that's true but I

1: 06 one more cold plunge that's true but I will say that I I do think it has you know a lot of positive impact and just even from a mental perspective it seems to be pretty awesome yeah uh I know it's all over the place I know every [__] Fitness influencer is talking about code plunging for their mental yeah yeah but yo like training as much as I do and the amount of fatigue I get on my body like the cold plunge has really made a big difference I'm doing a lot of Jiu-Jitsu I'm getting in the gym it has you've mentioned it before how like after a hard run or something you'll get in there and afterwards you just feel better the inflammation's down you recover faster I'm so thankful that actually we were able to start doing this a while ago and that we're on the cold plunge train I know it's trendy I get it but at the end of the day I don't give a [__] if something's trendy if it's making a difference for my performance I really don't I'll be that guy I think it's underrated and I know some people you may not be able to get into a cold plunge or whatever I get it that it's it is what it is but if you are able to at some point and you're an

1: 07 are able to at some point and you're an athlete it will benefit you that's it yeah I love the I've mentioned it many times before but like the mental benefits you know I've tried a bunch of stuff to help put me in a better mood or whatever they all can't even get close to this and then also um you know kind of like I've never really done too many difficult things in my life I had a pretty good life um I noticed that like more people signed up in my division for my you know my tournament coming up and I'm like these [__] aren't getting into a cold plunge and I jumped right in cuz I'm like I'm doing the hard thing that they're not willing to do so there's like some mental tough I don't know if it's mental toughness but there's some thing going on there where you're like not a lot of people are willing to do this I'm going to go do it right now and then you come out of it you just you feel like a freaking superhero it feels incredible yeah cool uh sauna I don't know anything about sauna dude also underrated under yeah I would say underrated okay I don't have a sauna at home and I hope I'm going to I want to get one soon plun just came out

1: 08 want to get one soon plun just came out with one so I'm going to try to get my hands on that [__] sauna but um if there's a day that I just like I'm not recovered well or I'm feeling kind of fatigued I'll go to this Asha spot in sacrament I'll go hop in a sauna I'm able to get a good sweat in it's able to replicate some type of exercise without me actually exercising so I mean especially I mean I feel like for older individuals especially it could be a game Cher to allow them to actually really sweat and breathe hard get the heart rate up a little bit get the heart rate up I you know in those Finn countries they sa us so much and they have very good longevity in those countries so I know getting an at home sauna is tough but many gyms like 24-Hour Fitness Cal fits they have saas in there step in there if you can you know just on the same note as the uh cold plunge um you know I think something that we forget is like these things been around for a long time yeah PE you know athletes jumping into cold water like the little tubs in the training room and stuff been around for a long time people been getting into saunas for a really long time the only

1: 09 saunas for a really long time the only thing I don't love about the sauna is I just don't hear as many people talk about a hot tub and I think a hot tub is like maybe maybe doesn't have the same benefit cuz you're not maybe breathing the same way and stuff but man they both feel really relaxing and in my opinion both of them are really good ways to end your day or end your night and you would think man if I go into the sauna I'm going to get all sweaty and hot and stuff but a a few moments after you know after you've been out for 20 minutes or so your body temperature will react to that heat and as a result you'll actually start to cool down even more you could even just take a shower you know and and you'll you'll feel a lot better but I do that a lot with uh the hot tub I'll go in my hot tub for 20 minutes or so and it just relaxes me and I sweat a little bit I get hot I get warm and then I'll usually just uh hop in the shower and the sauna is something that I'll use in the winter time time a lot especially like to wake myself up and I'll sometimes go back and forth very fortunate to have both I'll go back and forth between that and the cold

1: 10 and forth between that and the cold plunge and that'll really wake me the [__] up yeah I don't have much experience with it but I I remember jumping into a steam room back in the day like how's that is that in comparison steam rooms are generally be because the um the the it is more humid in a steam room the temperature is actually lower than it typically is in AA but it feels hotter because of the humidity in the room so steam rooms are good they they'll make you sweat temperature isn't as high as a sauna or as a good sauna but like it's still great if you can get in one you know yeah right this is a obvious one Barefoot wide toe boox shoes be easy with this one I I I'd say underrated yeah more people need to know about it I mean people in our space know about it but I can't tell you guys how many people I've told in person you know what to do with their feet and it's making huge differences uh there's one woman that is like a family friend uh that I've been talking talking with a lot and her foot pain is just crazy she was a longtime runner for many many

1: 11 was a longtime runner for many many years she was marathoner she did ultas she did all kinds of stuff her feet got super jacked up she went to the Super padded stuff you know really stacked stuff under her feet and then she's walking around her house with shoes on cuz her feet hurt so bad her toes were overlapping um I saw her yesterday and she showed me her foot and her big toe is no longer like C Crossing with the second toe so not not every woman shows me their feet right away but that's the relationship I have with this one and uh it's just cool to see those improvements and so I think more people need to know about uh barefoot shoes getting her in the proper shoes was really important so she switched to uh an Ultra Shoe she also has a Vios as well to allow the uh toes to naturally playay out I know if you guys been if you're a new listener maybe not but like we've been talking about this so much because it's an Implement that I mean oddly enough you made that shoe with Reebok many years ago that powerlifting shoe was very wide toebox right um but we've made

1: 12 very wide toebox right um but we've made that switch maybe two and a half three years ago and it's been huge because the feet are so much stronger the balance is so much better um everything is has improved because the feet have gotten stronger so I know that as I get older right I'm not going to need arch support when I was a teenager I was told I need arch support because I had flat feet I don't it was just cuz I had weak feet so there are so many things you can do to strengthen your feet wearing barefoot shoes and going Barefoot is one of them and you will reap the benefits in the long term if you can make that adjustment and yeah it is underrated cuz when I'm out and about most people aren't wearing Barefoot type shoes you know what I mean we are those weirdos now but it's because it actually is one of those things that has a long-term benefit one of my friends who plays tennis his whole inside of both of his feet was just on the ground like the insides of his feet like his inside ankle bone was like literally on the ground he had these like kind of pancaked feet just these big old fat round circular feet look like an

1: 13 round circular feet look like an elephant's foot and uh you know he started practicing some of the WX stuff with the um with the uh rope flow he started messing around with some of that toe spacers um getting himself out of shoes getting wide toe box shoes and now his foot isn't completely like cured where he's got this like really amazing Arch or anything but he's been able to take his foot and pull his foot up with his own strength yes and keep an actual arch in there and now he's playing tennis at at a different level that he was playing he's already amazing at tennis but he's a tennis instructor and he's showing people you know how to play tennis and stuff like that now he's able to participate and go back and forth with these kids without having nearly as much pain so it sounds ridiculous but it can have a huge impact and imagine if it's having an impact on your foot it's having an impact on your knee on your hip on your lower back everywhere yeah so was he in pain prior to that yeah he was in tons of pain damn that's crazy yeah obviously underrated everybody

1: 14 yeah obviously underrated everybody wants to wear high heeled triangle looking shoes cuz they look good and they don't even consider that you know like oh your feet aren't supposed to hurt all the time like no cuz you got to wear you know shoes that fit your feet a lot better right all right moving on natty or not so I guess Natty or not videos on the internet h over for Mar over over all around yeah I like I think they're fun but like to be perfectly honest it's like you it's tough I I get the fun of speculating on somebody but I I do think that like you know you don't know how long someone's been doing something you know what I mean and if popular people do think someone is doing that and then they're labeled like that that's that's no good because people people been doing [__] for a long time people have different genetics so I don't know they're fun videos but I do think the stock and truth that people put into

1: 15 stock and truth that people put into these videos are are overrated it's a little too gossipy for my liking yeah and I kind of don't like seeing people try to drag other people down so I don't dig it yeah yeah I don't like the fact that somebody might be able to learn something from somebody but because of a natti you're not video and they're whatever claims to be Natty and they're not like and then it's like oh throw everything out like well [__] what if there was something good there that could have like really helped you out yeah but you threw it all out because n or not video says that they're lying I understand it's fun and it's like some entertainment and people are you know kind of messing with each other so I understand that people sometimes like watching that friction or hearing that friction but people love drama yeah I don't like it personally all right here we go Tren steroids overrated underrated Trends perfect I think people already know yeah Tren perfectly rated what do

1: 16 know yeah Tren perfectly rated what do you think yeah I don't you know I don't even know where to go with this one we got the trend twins dog they're twins yeah I think uh yeah I think Trend it has a little too much behind it and it is as powerful as advertised uh unfortunately just [__] shitty for you I want to read you guys a quick comment from Eric Lily Bridge Jr who commented it hurts a lot of people yeah you know it's very it's not not great Ernie libridge Jr commented on our the Pete rubish podcast excellent interview and enjoyed it very much me personally I don't like Tren mainly leads to injuries it does have a bad reputation because people abuse the [__] out of it taking dosages fit for horses it if it was used correctly say 10 to 20 milligrams d / micro doing you would be okay I know the majority of believes Tren is the best for strength but to me it's not there are other supplements out there that are superior with way less side effects like mint AKA

1: 17 side effects like mint AKA trestolone uh for example will blow Tren out of the water for strength I don't know if I should have read that but you go to markb power. com receive 50% off all the mint uh yeah yeah I think that's an oral steroid that's not that's from Earnie guys okay figure out how to get me some yeah uh man I I don't know anything about like I don't know Trend but it seems like steroids get a bad rep on like in in um like public I guess Media or whatever because everyone thinks you're going to get Roid Rage and you're going to get a heart attack and stuff and I know we have a lot of examples these days but I don't know man seems like they you can do them uh intelligently and kind of get a lot of benefits and not get too much sidetracked but I don't know I guess maybe I'll say perfectly rated because like for those that abuse them you get what you know what you get what you pay for whatever

1: 18 what you get what you pay for whatever you know what I mean like you did this to yourself like you know what's coming if you do it smartly maybe through a doctor then you know you can use it responsibly but but Tren though does it hurt when you have to inject that how would I know allegedly does it hurt yeah yeah any you know so any of the fast acting steroids they they all kind of hurt a little bit so uh Tren is usually Tren uh that's has a fast acting Esther attached to it you can get different kinds though but yeah it usually hurts a little bit you guys don't need to go do Tren no one needs to do trat yeah I don't think it's a good bet um steroids are really interesting just in general and steroid cycles are really interesting in general and I think people will always be fascinated by them they're always going to want to try to learn more about it I think uh the negatives of it I think have been overhyped for many many years but I think it is there still is a lot

1: 19 but I think it is there still is a lot of caution associated with it and for a guy that's 20 or 30 years old just randomly hopping on some stuff and it it just you know I always kind of think about like you know what are you going to do next like what's next after that you know you just did this this is a card that you played uh maybe it'd be better to hold that card back for a while until you might feel one day that you actually need it but can you enjoy training can you make progress can you uh you know have some good habits now and and work through it and you know even even with lifting you know and something like a pre-workout like just for God's sake just go in the gym and just work out for like 10 minutes do a set of lap pull Downs do a set of tricep extensions do some hammer curls do three rounds of that and and then do you still need the Pre-Workout you probably don't you'll probably be inspired enough to just get going on your own so uh you know I

1: 20 going on your own so uh you know I started taking stuff when I was you know in my mid 20s 25 years old but I already been lifting since I was about 12 years old so I already had many years of lifting I had some habits intact and I felt like I was an adult I didn't wasn't living with my parents or anything like that I was living on my own and I was trying to make my own decisions and I thought that was the best for me and I don't have any regrets about it I feel comfortable about it but there are a lot of precautions and you should research it a lot if you're going to ever take them let's go I think that was it Andrew take us on out of here buddy thank you everybody for checking out today's episode let us know what you guys think uh where we we off were we perfectly rated whatever it may be and also let us know what you guys want us to rate on the next one uh make sure you guys hit that like button subscribe all that good stuff follow the podcast at MB power project all over the place my Instagram is Andrew Z and Sema where you at go join the Discord for some ways to win some [__] we're going to be giving some stuff away and that's the only way you can join our Q & A seea

In the world of strength training, opinions are strong and consensus is rare. When Mark Bell and his team on the Power Project sit down to rate health practices as overrated or underrated, the disagreements are predictable — until they reach sauna.

The consensus is immediate: sauna (as explored in this deep dive) is underrated. Not slightly. Dramatically. The cardiovascular benefits alone rival moderate-intensity exercise, and most people treat it as nothing more than a place to relax.

What follows is a revealing conversation about where the wellness industry overcomplicates recovery — and where the simplest practices deliver the greatest returns.

Underrated Sauna rating #1 Creatine rank Zone 2 Sauna cardio equivalent 80% Supplements rated overrated

"Sauna is the most underrated recovery tool out there. People sit in it and think it is relaxation — it is actually a cardiovascular workout."

The Underrated Cardiovascular Workout

The panel's reasoning is straightforward: sauna produces cardiovascular stress that mirrors Zone 2 training. Heart rate elevates. Blood vessels dilate. The body works to regulate its temperature through sweating and increased circulation.

For athletes and non-athletes alike, this means that a 20-minute sauna session delivers genuine cardiovascular training without the joint stress of running or cycling. For recovery days, this is particularly valuable — maintaining cardiovascular fitness while allowing muscles to repair.

The longevity data adds another dimension. Heat shock proteins activated during sauna exposure are implicated in cellular repair and may contribute to reduced all-cause mortality. The Finnish Sauna Cohort, which followed thousands of participants for decades, confirmed a dose-response relationship between sauna frequency and cardiovascular health.

"The supplement industry profits from complexity. The foundations are simple: sleep, eat well, move, and use heat and cold." — Mark Bell's Power Project

Cold Exposure: Timing Is Everything

The panel is equally enthusiastic about cold exposure but adds an important caveat: timing matters. Cold water immersion immediately after strength training may blunt the inflammatory response that drives muscle adaptation.

The recommendation is to use cold exposure on rest days or at least several hours after training. Used this way, the dopamine and noradrenaline response provides mood and recovery benefits without interfering with strength gains.

For those not focused on hypertrophy, cold exposure is one of the most accessible recovery tools available. A cold shower requires no equipment, no membership, and no commute.

The Simplicity Principle

Perhaps the most useful takeaway from the discussion is what the panel rates as overrated: most supplements. The industry profits from complexity — from the suggestion that optimal health requires a medicine cabinet of capsules and powders.

The Power Project panel pushes back on this. Sleep, nutrition, movement, and thermal therapy form the foundation. Creatine stands alone as the one supplement with robust evidence for both strength and cognitive performance. Everything else is marginal at best.

This is a useful framework: build the foundation first, and only then consider the additions. Sauna and cold exposure belong in the foundation — not the supplement stack.

Practical Takeaways

Treat sauna as a cardiovascular training tool, not just relaxation — 20 minutes produces a Zone 2-equivalent workout. Schedule cold exposure on rest days to preserve strength training adaptations. Prioritize the foundations — sleep, nutrition, thermal therapy — before investing in supplements. If choosing one supplement, the evidence favors creatine for both physical and cognitive performance.
